All Professional Associations belonging to the GCMT have undertaken to ensure that their members meet the minimum standards of education specified by the Council.
Council Members
BTPA is an autonomous non profit-making organisation run by Bowen Therapists for Bowen Therapists. The association provides a Constitution, Ethics and Code of Practice to help our members work professionally. BTPA assesses and accredits new courses for members' Continual Professional Development (CPD).

The LCSP Register of Remedial Masseurs and Manipulative Therapists is a company limited by guarantee that took over the existing organisation London and Counties Society of Physiologists with effect from 1st January 2002. Only the constitution and title of the organisation has in effect changed – the membership, aims, objects, etc. are unchanged.

Trading as the National Association of Massage & Manipulative Therapists is a "Not for Profit" Professional Association (NAMMT) founded by Mr. Eddie Caldwell, former principal of the Northern Institute of Massage and other professional Massage and Manipulative Therapists to represent the interests of professional therapists.
The Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation (SMTO) was formed in 1992 and exists to provide a service to the public, the Massage Therapist and the profession and works with the GCMT in developing and maintaining standards, and has been approved by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) as a verifying organisation.
Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is a specialist awarding organisation offering vocational and technical qualifications in a range of service sectors. With more than 800 approved centres, VTCT has an ever expanding list of centres throughout the UK and Ireland, with increasing international presence.
