Earle Abrahamson is a Professor in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at the University of Hertfordshire, National Teaching Fellow, Principal Fellow of Advance HE and inaugural ISSOTL fellow.

Yvonne Blake (SMA)

Vice Chair

Yvonne originally trained as a holistic therapist and went on to qualify as a Sports Massage Therapist in 1999. She subsequently completed a Degree and Masters in Sports Therapy at the University of Central Lancashire in 2011 & 2013. Being a fitness fanatic, she has also trained as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor and is the mobility specialist in her local CrossFit gym. She was also a Senior External Verifier for VTCT and more recently wrote the National Occupational Standards for Sports Massage in conjunction with Skills for Health. Yvonne currently has her own busy practise specialising in working with CrossFit and Strongman athletes. Yvonne is currently the Chair of the SMA after having fulfilled the role of vice chair for many years. She specialises in educational matters and also industry regulation for the GCMT.

Lorna Forrester

Finance Director

Lorna spent 15 years in the Investment Industry before becoming a Remedial & Sports Massage Therapist, Aromatherapist and Reflexologist. Most of her massage work has been in the corporate sector and she runs a large squad of therapists across the UK who offer massage in the workplace. In 2009 she took over the running of Scottish Massage Schools, one of the largest providers of complementary therapy training in Scotland, with schools in Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. In 2016 she was asked to take over the running of the Scottish Massage Therapists Organisation, the only massage professional body based in Scotland, for Scottish massage and soft tissue therapists.

Gina Lilley (Amatsu)

Executive Secretary

Gina is Chair of Amatsu Therapy International UK. Gina also works as a Senior Teacher and Examiner for ATIUK and has a busy clinic in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. Gina’s long career in soft tissue therapies includes massage, sports massage and now Amatsu Soft Tissue Therapy.
