The Work of the Therapist Protection Group

To support the work of the GCMT, the Therapist Protection Group, one of six task and finishing groups, has been established.

The Therapist Protection Group has been created to empower therapists and provide resources to make them less vulnerable in the working environment.

Members of the Therapist Protection Group: Yvonne Blake, Sharon Chillingworth, Lorna Forrester, Gina Lilley, Lindsey Nicholas, and Carole Preen.

Objectives:

Provide advice for therapists regarding their legal position when faced with solicitation or harassment.

Provide advice to ensure therapists are not vulnerable in their working situation, whether mobile, clinic or home based.

Develop resources to educate clients and the public about unacceptable behaviour during a massage treatment.
